Moving to San Francisco!

Lot's of new things happening with me! I just found a killer apartment in San Francisco and am moving from my Oregon refuge to the City. Quite a change. Blog posts might slow down a bit these next couple weeks as I will be busy moving and packing. However when I get there there are some big things happening. Here is a preview

1) I just recently submitted a proposal for a Charisma Arts Expanded course which is essentially an advanced course for clients who have already taken the bootcamp. Can't divulge too many details but it is geared to clients who are looking to be better with groups of people, escalate faster, have more fun with humor and flirting, and work on their day game.

2) Style consults. Wish there was more fashion advice, or someone who would come shopping with you? I've been doing informal style consults for a while but soon will be available to go out on the town in San Francisco and help you upgrade your image.

3) Know any women who could use this training? I am setting up a informal group of women to teach and learn how they can date and attract men more effectively. This will be a pilot group that will probably be developed into a course for women. Email me if you are a woman and would like to be a part of this group in SF.

Socialhitchhiker is coming to San Francisco, watch out!

Lastly I want to offer a free one or two day private for anyone in the bay area in trade for helping re-do my blog. Details of what i want can be discussed. One question I have to all of my readers which i would love your feedback, is: Would you be interested in a members only access to more blogs, podcasts, and special free video lectures? While I still want to continue writing free articles for this blog, a subscription to a members only area with a guaranteed # of blogs and podcasts a month would keep me motivated to posting more and delivering more top notch content. I'm guessing the membership would only be $5 or $10 a month.

So let me hear your feedback! Comment or privately email me what you think about these ideas and coming events.

Dan

Hey Hitch, sounds like a great idea for the membership blog. I know I would join for sure if there were podcasts and free video. Great idea!

Dan relax I already told you that on the alumni board! Anyways it sounds awesome with that new stuff you are up to. I am definately interested in hearing more on that advanced bootcamp. The topics it involves are exactly what I want to work on. Regarding your members only blog consept I am pretty sure I would sign up for that.

I think the paid blog is a great idea, especially if you keep the price point low. $10 a month will scare off too many people. I think you'd net more at $4.99/mo. for those willing to commit to a 2 month term that auto-renews if they don't actively cancel, or $3.99 per single private article.

And I would still do the public blog in parallel with the private one. The public articles would be the perfect billboard for the paid ones. Have them both on the same subject each week; just have the private post have much more detail plus audio, pictorial or even video illustration. IE, one month the public blog might be an overview of disqualification and why it's important, and a teaser paragraph telling members to click on a link to hear mp3 audio of a couple of sarges you did (like the Juggler/Johnny Savior in-field audio) & a more elaborate text explanation. Next week, an explanation of how to shop, but the private blog has specific things to buy, specific stores to check out, before & after pics of shopping clients (faces obscured), audio of a girl explaining why she checks out a guy's shoes, watch, etc.

To further market the private posts, figure out some way of letting the praise comments for the private blog posts be visible on the public blog.

Frankly, I'd take down some of your old posts (which are incredible), split them into public and private versions, add some illustrative audiovisuals and put them back up in the split format.

I think it would also be a good idea, to do some sort of competition some time, in which you can win a bootcamp. It's a great way for charisma-arts to market their products, and this way, also people who will never be able to save the amount of money for a bootcamp, have chance to go on one. Win-win... what do you other guys think?

I would certainly subscribe to your podcast/blog at $5-10/month

I don't know man. I know the idea sounds good on its face, but there are also some more advanced guys reading the blog who simply enjoy the musings of another "PUA" at a level similar to their own. Personally, as a colleague in the same industry as yourself, I know I would just move on if asked to pay a price for viewing the 'real' version of your blog.

That said, I love the blog, and find it helpful and interesting. However, there are enough others out there which serve similar needs (for me, reading articulated musings on social dynamics and gaining a different perspective on a subject common to both of us). Thus, I'm pretty confident that plenty of us would simply slide on down the list if asked to pay for a membership of some kind.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you.

Best,

-Harbinger

I doubt he would expect the business of people who are paid approach-coaches like yourself.

I know it's not that much money to pay, but listen to yourself Dan, you and the charisma arts guys have given us many podcasts and posts that I admit had changed my life, but you're starting to make everything costy, a seminar for 2000$, a phone consultation for 100$, not everybody can afford this, especially a 16 yrs old boy like me.

I really hope that you keep your blog for free.

I'd probably pay 5$ a month. Hell, all the free stuff here and on charismaarts.com has really had a big impact on my life, so I'd be happy to pay.

what skills do you need to help you redo your blog? are you serious about the free private lessons?

Hey Dan, how it going? It's Dave from Canada. I think the private forum would be a great idea. I would personally love to see video (I think the podcasts are great still) on the forum. And I also think the expanded course idea is gold. It's definitely something I would consider if it was set up. I'm not sure if the Style session still stands, but I will be heading down to the San Jose Area for Xmas, and it'd be great to meet up again. Cheers!

Dan,

You could go with a pay site for premium content (podcasts, archives) as the New York Times does and leave the current stuff free. You could also make revenue by advertising. If, for instance, people sign up for a Charisma Arts bootcamp thru a link on your page, you should get a referral fee. And really, your blog is one big ad for the CA bootcamps already!

Email me if you're still looking for help. jobs [at] epison gro up [dot] c om.

(without the spaces, etc.)
